Afternoon Delight

Today I had lunch at Afternoon Delight, on Liberty in downtown Ann Arbor. It's just a little lunch spot on a main drag, with nothing special about the interior, and I like that. I don't like that the nametags of the wait staff said things like "Hello! My name is Audrey Hepburn."

I have been craving potato pancakes for a week or two, and they did indeed have them as a Sunday special. They were good, but not incredible - too much onion and the potatoes were chunky, rather than shredded. I also had a mocha cappuccino shake, and it was pretty tasty. Afternoon Delight does a lot of things with frozen yogurt, so if you like berries and muffins and other light-ish taste treats with yogurt, then this is your place.

Afternoon Delight? Sounds dirty to me. Isn't that what a you call a quickie during your lunchbreak?

I think restaurants should have nametags that say, "Hello, I'm in love with 'insert celebrity name here'"
Mine would say, "hello, I'm in love with Bruce Willis"

My nametag would say, "Hello, Kelly Clarkson is in love with me and my best friend is Clay Aiken." That would be a really big nametag though and I may have trouble walking around with it.

Mine would say "Hello, I'm in love with Joaquin Phoenix - I want to lick his scar..." or is that too much information?

Mine would say "As long as you are a celebrity, I would do it with you. Male, female, young, old, doesn't matter..."

You want celebrities? Try Detroit Metro Airport. I was there a few weeks ago, and saw Lewis Black, Mark-Paul Gosselar, George Clinton (who waved to me upon hearing me exclaim, "Holy Shit, that's George Clinton!") and Dave Coulier. Get down there, Charlie, but take some condoms.
