Wedding Post #3 - The Bridesmaids

There are a few things I don't like about weddings - the monetary expense, the weird cake, the feelings of inadequacy I used to experience. But if there's one thing that really, really bothers me, it's the bridesmaids dynamic. See, I'm one of those people that makes instant girlfriends. Throw me in a room with some girls and we'll be hugging inside an hour. And bridesmaids are the worst. You share this experience, you have at least one common friend, you're not sizing each other up because not only are you all wearing the same dress but you all look gorgeous - being a bridesmaid is the perfect opportunity to make instafriends. You talk about boobs and then you hug. It's awesome.
And then, you never see them again! Or at least, you never see them all together at the same time again. I hate that. Why is it that you meet these cool ladies, bond in an extremely fashionable way, maybe exchange an email or two after the wedding, sharing pictures, and then no more? My fellow bridesmaids were so awesome, and I bet I won't even get a Christmas card from any of them.

ps. look at how good we look with my blog - it's like those pashminas were made to order by naivehelga!

I love the colors of those bridesmaid dresses and wraps! It was beautiful! I always end up not knowing the other bridesmaids and I'm thinking, how can I be this person's bridesmaid and not even really know these other people who are so important to my bride friend??

I always thought the best way to make an instant friend was to stalk them while doing a show with them. Was I wrong?

1 word - GORGEOUS! You all look lovely! I hope you will be able to wear the dress again, but you will certainly be able to get a lot of use out of the pashmina!
I am a lot like you .. I become friends easily and often feel at a loss when that instant friendship fades. I do the same thing with books though, I always want to know MORE of the story, I feel invested somehow. Girl to girl relationships can be a lot like dating, I think, you wait for them to call or make the next move and when they don't you are disappointed .. but you don't make the move either.
Boy, are we complicated ... or maybe it is just me??
