Scab

Since I am not a member of the Writers Guild of America, I am not crossing any picket lines to continue writing this blog. I suppose that, in a show of solidarity, I could refuse to write until the Hollywood writers get their due... but that's no fun. Besides, I have stories. Stay tuned.

writers' guild strike - C (I support their decision to get what they think they deserve, but I do worry about the effect it will have on my TV/movie watching)

Don't worry about your movie-watching. The studios are fine until summer.
But freak the fuck out about TV. Conan, Leno, Colbert, and Stewart are off the air tonight, going into reruns immediately.
Sitcoms and scripted drama will be fine through December - after the Christmas hiatus there will be nothing unless this is resolved.
What will I do second semester without Greys and The Office?!

There are about 20 picketers under my office window at the moment.

I don't really understand how this works. Are there not 300,000 nerdy fan-fiction writers and the like who'd just die to be a scab? Don't get me wrong, I'm almost always on the side of the worker, but have you ever seen that "Leno or a six year-old" gag on some show? The man-on-the-street generally gets it wrong...

I don't want my t.v. to be messed up! I would go crazy without new Office Episodes!! I'll write for them!

I don't think the new TV season will really suffer with the strike - hopefully, some of the crappy shows won't come back from it.

Only two episodes of Heroes left! They better get paid soon, or else I might have to go Sylar on someone's ass.
