In honor of the upcoming arrival of NaiveNiece-or-Nephew, and to commemorate a little incident that took place yesterday, I'd like to share with you an anecdote from my tween years. When my buddies and I first began shaving our legs, around 6th grade or so, we use to share "war stories" on awful nicks and cuts. And I've never forgotten what my friend Katie told me: her mom said that the only pain in the world worse than a shaving mistake was...?
CHILDBIRTH.
Really? Um, I think maybe you don't know how to shave your legs, lady.

Well, I'd agree that childbirth is worse than a shaving mistake...but having done both I would argue there are a number of levels of pain in between the two. Although it does really sting when the water gets in a cut.
Exactly. It's the levels of pain in between. Ever had a tooth pulled? It hurts - somewhere in between cutting your leg and having a baby, I'd imagine.
I'll be sure to let your readers know how the two stack up. Something tells me there is a big gap between these pains... but perhaps there's nothing that really falls in between them.
Except migraines.
And really bad gas.
And breaking a bone.
And home waxing of the bikini line... never try it. Not worth it.
Yeah. I can confirm that labor is MUCH MUCH WORSE than cutting your leg shaving. Holy Damn! I'd rather shave with a cheese grater, except that shaving of any kind does not result in a super scrumptious little baby boy, whereas the unholy pain of labor does... thus making it more worth it, if more painful, than shaving of any kind.
