I think might love Margaret Atwood. I seem to recall really liking Alias Grace, and I KNOW I loved The Handmaid's Tale... and Moral Disorder, a collection of short stories, was completely brilliant. As soon as I was finished reading it, I wanted to immediately start it again (but that's foolish). While it's short stories, they all feature the same female character - but it's not a novel. It's better than a novel. It was so DENSE, and rich, and... haunting. The first story, "The Bad News," sucked me in; when I finished it, I actually said "wow." Out loud. Then I just kept reading. I am loving all these book reviews - adding them to my GoodReads "to Read" list immediately.
Also, have you read Revolutionary Road? I started it last night and it's just over 200 pages. Quick one (for you) and then we can catch the movie!
Also, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society is a MUST read. The book is short and you will like it...I think.
Moral Disorder left me somewhat confused. I felt like I needed to read it again. The Blind Assassin was my favorite.
